Raves and Reviews

October 8,2014Our group absolutely LOVED our dinner last Friday. Your food was amazingly delicious, the setting was perfect, and your staff took wonderful care of us. Everyone raved! I put a review in Yelp which will hopefully help draw people to your restaurant. When we are in the area next, we will absolutely come in again. Thank you so much,

—Kathleen

February 1, 2014, Glen Ellen - Oh, how I miss your place. The food, atmosphere, people, you and your wife. You two are really the best of the best in so many ways. I am in So. Cal and when I talk about restaurants, you are always on my mind. I am always trying to get people to stop in for a bite to eat and something to drink. If there was only one restaurant in the world, I would wish it was yours so I could enjoy again and again. Thank you for all the great meals and fun there at your place. So marvelous and so many memories.

— Rob McGuire, one of your many wine salesmen from 8 years ago.

April 19, 2013, Kenwood. Hi Chef. We are having an absolutely wonderful time in Sonoma Valley. Here's what we wanted to say about our private dinner at Casa Verde.

Our private dinner at Casa Verde was hands down one of the most special meals of our lives. Each course was very delicious, made with organic ingredients, and paired fabulously with local wines. This was just the type of meal we envisioned for celebrating our honeymoon, and Chef did a fantastic job of exceeding our expectations! We highly recommend this dinner for anyone wanting to celebrate a special occasion.

Dear Steve,
On behalf of a small band of "LOVERS of Paella"we want to thank you for a remarkable night. We all commented on how much we enjoyed spending time with you, learning about the history and innovation that has characterized your restaurant, and enjoying the marvelous food from your splendid kitchen. And we love your commitment to sustainability.... It was indeed a feast to remember!

We also think your new eco chic chef line is fabulous...and we appreciated your interest and support for David's new enterprise in Seville. Perhaps you two can do some great things together.

We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Thanks for your generous spirit and time. Hope you had a great Father's Day!

Warmly,

— Kathryn

"Thanks you so much for a most enjoyable luncheon for the six of us last Thursday. The Tapas you selected were wonderful-your grilled artichokes are truly the "world's best"! Patti and my pasta dish was so incredible-light, melt in your mouth-while the vegetables and sauce surpassed our expectations. Zucchini never had it so good!

We appreciated your extra effort to prepare such fantastic dishes even the hamburgers got rave reviews! You have a most amazing ability to create memorable food! We hope we can help promote your restaurant."

"The essence of Sonoma County dining: A family operated restaurant offering unique homemade specialties featuring fresh, local (mostly organic) ingredients simply and artfully prepared." -

"The Vineyards Inn is a quintessential yet unique wine country restaurant that features locally grown ingredients. Chef Steve Rose features Spanish inspired tapas with a touch of Californian flare. The freshest seafood, perfectly grilled meats, and flavorful vegetable dishes complete the creative menu. Diners can chose from a variety of California wines, often from a winery just down the road. The bar also serves up sangria, cocktails, and all your favorite beers in a comfortable "small town" atmosphere."

"The Vineyards Inn has been a favorite of mine for many, many years. Chef Esteban keeps the menu lively and refreshed and never gets stuck for new ideas. The bar is well stocked and the friendly camaraderie of the staff and regular patrons is a pleasant respite from anyone's busy day." -

"We (my friend Jeff & I) were at your establishment Sunday, Dec 20th, following a very wet hike to the top of Bald Mountain. Your son was taking care of the restaurant in the owners' absence (for birthdays!). We LOVED the place, and were thrilled to have the fire stoked up so we could dry out, find a great glass of wine, and devour several of your tapas. Delicious! We will be back".

"Las mejores Gambas al Ajillo del mundo eran las del bar El Caserio, en la parte vieja de Pamplona, España. En 1999. Mi primo Steve me vino a buscar al trabajo y salimos a dar la vuelta. Era obligatorio para nosotros hacerlos probar las Gambas. Les gustaron y las reinterpreto en su carta de Vineyards Inn. En 2007 fuimos a Kenwood a verlos y probe las Gambas al Ajillo en el Vineyards Inn y me rei! Estaban mas agradables y sabrosos y eran mas baratas!
... now in English ...
The best shrimps to the chopped garlic were those of the bar El Caserio in the old district of Pamplona, Spain. In 1999 my cousin Steve came to look for me to go for a walk like every evening. Before dinner it was obligatory for us to show him the Shrimps al Ajillo. He liked them & reinterpreted the Tapa on his menu at the Vineyards Inn in Kenwood. In 2007 we went to Kenwood to see them and I tried the famous shrimps with the chopped garlic and lemon and I laughed! They were more agreeable & tasty & were cheaper than the ones in Pamplona. - Salud para todos los amigos y clientes del Vineyards Inn."
